San Francisco and Portland – who will win the electric vehicles race?
San Francisco has declared war for electric vehicles (EV) on the ultra-green city of Oregon. Oregon has so far the highest concentration of hybrid cars in the US and is also working on building an infrastructure and testing grounds for new plug-in electric vehicles. San Francisco, however, announced that they expect to have more than 100,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2012 as a result of the recently launched EV program, supported by key businesses and international car and infrastructure companies.
