Although gas prices are not at record highs these days, they are still impacting the lifestyles of Americans. One of the ways this is occurring is with a newly developed plug in battery for the Prius. It gives the care a whopping 100 miles per gallon and adds 35 miles in electrical power alone. Toyota does not condone this because they have their own plug that they are making to be available by 2010. It costs roughly $10,400 to get it set in but many Prius owner are ready and willing to shell it out, considering how much they have already saved by getting the Prius in the first place and how much they will save on gas money.
