Triathlon Makes A Big Splash
The first ever Oregon Trout City of Portland Triathlon went off without a hitch last Sunday, despite early fears that the Willamette might be too contaminated to swim in. Tests of the water conducted by the non-profit organization Willamette Riverkeeper showed toxic levels of bacteria the Friday before the race was set. However, later tests on Saturday revealed that the water was in fact clean enough for the triathletes to swim in.

Over 250 people participated in the event, and many came out to cheer on the racers, making for a hugely successful triathlon. And since it was the first triathlon for the City of Portland, it's popularity will help ensure that we have a triathlon in years to come.
