Help Keep Portland Bike-Friendly

Portland, Oregon is one of the friendliest cities for bikes in the nation, but with all the development that is occurring downtown and elsewhere, cyclists’ concerns may get pushed to the wayside.  There is something any interested biker can do to help, though.  On the second Tuesday of every month the Bicycle Advisory Committee(BAC) meets at City Hall to discuss the city’s bicycle issues.  The committee advises the City Council and all city bureaus on the issues and concerns of the cycling community in Portland.  All are welcome to attend and give their input, and agendas for the meetings are available in advance.

Some of the issues that have been discussed most recently have included safe bike routes to and from area schools, cyclist education, and promoting the economic benefits of bicycling in Portland.

The meetings are conducted by the Portland Office of Transportation located at 1120 SW 5th, Room 800.

See Portland Office of Transportation for more details.
