What have you done for National Pollution Prevention Week (Sept. 18-24)? While the chance for workweek commuting is over, you can still make a last-ditch effort at environmental education. Visit the EPA’s Green Vehicle Guide to find out how ‘green’ your current vehicle is or to guide you in the purchase of a new one.

Now including early 2007 models, the site scores each vehicle, assigning it an Air Pollution Score and a Greenhouse Gas Score. Although the scores only take into consideration the vehicle’s environmental impact while in use and not materials used to build it, etc., they can offer a starting point to find “the cleanest and most fuel-efficient vehicle that meets your needs.” If you need an SUV, then so be it! But check out the website first to see which gas-guzzlers are the ‘greenest’.
