Shopping By Bike

The City of Portland Transportation Office will host a free class this Wednesday, Sept. 20 called ‘Shopping by Bike’. Part of the City’s ‘Smart Living’ series, the class will be held from 6:30-8 pm at the Sabin School in NE Portland. ‘Shopping by Bike’ will include tips from “veteran cyclists” on how to carry packages and children by bike. Attendees will also build their own “bike-bucket”.

The final ‘Smart Living’ class of the year, ‘Biodiesel Conversion,’ will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27 – same time, same place. Host Brian Jamison, author of “Power From the People,” will offer information on switching to biodiesel and teach participants to make fuel from vegetable oil. Contact Jeff Smith at 503.823.7083 to reserve your bucket-building materials for tomorrow, or for more information on the Smart Living series.
